And today just keeps getting better!
We filed our I-600a form with Immigration on 8/28, just before the holiday weekend. We were told in 2-3 weeks we would be notified of our FINAL fingerprint appointment, the fingerprints for the Dept of Immigration (again, the different depts of the gov't don't share, so we have to be re-printed everytime a new department gets involved in the adoption.) We got the letter today, and it was logged w/ the Dept on 9/2, which means it was 1 week, not 2-3. Once again, this is super-fast. To re-cap, my new passport (change of name) was issued 12 days after I mailed in the paperwork (supposed to take 6-8 weeks), and our FBI background clearance arrived 15 days after we sent it out (supposed to take 6-8 weeks.) For some reason, and I will never question this, we are in "the zone" and getting gov't paperwork faster than expected.
This being said, I am fully prepared for snafoos and slowdowns, especially w/ the State of Illinois. But for the time being, I am basking in our good fortune!

Thanks for the post on our blog. Isn't it great when things seem to be going your way! Pray that it all continues. Maybe we will be really close on the "list" together. It is nice to be able to share things with other that "know" what you are dealing with. We are coming up on 2 years since we began the adoption process so we are praying that we are getting close.
Blessings~
Tina
