When we started this process in October of last year, I decided I wanted to be the healthiest mum I could be, and started making changes to make that a reality. I switched to a strict vegatarian diet, and in January, started working out, and training for a marathon. Well, it worked, and I lost 50 lbs by July, and participated in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in last May. However, I then had emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder (which had turned to sand since it wasn't being used to digest fatty meat any longer), and stopped working out.
I did some weekend training walks (8 miles) in August, but have been terrible with my workouts (aka: non existent) and have even occassionally eaten fatty foods like chips/french fries/ice cream.
I know, we all fall off the wagon, and I just need to get back on it, but its hard. I need to start working out at night again, even if it's just a 4 mile walk outside (and this is great weather to do it in!)
I do want to lose an additional 20 lbs by the time we travel for Sam. I know the initial weight loss is the easiest, and the next "phase" will be harder. On a high note, I have maintained very well, even without working out. But that's not good enough. I want Sam, and eventually Sophie, to have healthy attitudes about food and exercise, and the only real way to ensure that is to be their role model and LIVE IT myself.
So, healthy lunch today, plenty of veggies, more water, less Diet Coke (oh I'll miss you my sweet!), and I'll get off my butt and walk tonight instead of watching a movie w/ the dog & hubby.
