So Gregg is pretty terrific. Did I even mention this before? Well, he is. Here is one reason why. This week he cleared out part of the basement and changed all the light fixtures and set up my old dining room table to create a sewing area for me. My first project is hemming some curtains ... cannot really mess that up, now can I?
I did get the material for the curtains for Sam's room, but now I'm second thinking the fabric, so I don't know if I'll make those for the nursery or for our room. I just cannot make up my mind. I didn't get the drapery backing, because it goes on sale tomorrow (but the fabric was on-sale and goes off-sale tomorrow) so I have to go back. Maybe something will catch my eye and I'll keep the green for our room (which is now blue but is being painted green.) The fabric I got is a khaki-green w/ a bronze & chocolate floral design. Since the curtains will be double fullness, you won't really see the design, just the colors and I think it will be a nice neutral. I just don't know if it's for the nursery or not. There is a green recliner/rocker in there, and I don't want too much green. Oh gosh, someone needs to make up my mind for me. I didn't want "baby" curtains but we won't always have crib bedding...I need to stop obsessing about this.
Well -- HS news. There is none. Other than the fact they sent us a bill for $2600. But the HS hasn't been sent to AAC Toni, or DCFS. I could just scream. Actually I would feel better if I could cry but for some reason I cannot. Maybe I'll put in a movie tonight that makes me cry and then I'll feel better? Don't know. I'd better stop this post, because I'm just going to talk about the late HS more...

You might not be able to goof up sewing a hem on a drape, but I could! I can't even so much as sew a button on. How did I get to be my mother's daughter when I can't sew a thing. This was one talent I definitely did not inherit; she use to sew clothes for me when I was young. She doesn't now, but she does take up an occassional hem or attach a popped off button. They say my moim and I look a like, so that is a real compliment, but unfortunately my mom was wearing a bikini well into her 40s and I don't think I've worn one in ovalmost 15 years. I also didn't inherit my mom's athlicness. She was a real tomboy and I'm totally uncoordinated. I hated P.E. in school. Oops, this is your blog and I'm writing a novel here! So sorry!
We too had to pay for our homestudy waaayyyyy before we got the final copy. Ours was also delayed about 4 weeks for lame-A reasons. Which in the end did not apply to us...grrrrr!! I hope it is all cleared up for you soon cuz I really want you on the list with the rest of us waiters!!
Hooray for you. Love the fabric - so pretty! As far as the home study? Call them again and ask if it is done since you are getting a bill already - my goodness.
Was going to ask what HS stood for, but found it Missy's comment. I was going to review your old posts b/c you have a glossary of your acronyms in one of them! =) Um, fabric. Love the fabric -- very pretty. But I'm leaning with you that it might work better in your master bedroom once it's painted green. I'm thinking the the beautiful yellow in Sam's room might not coordinate as well with the fabric in your picture. Just my two cents. =). Also, you've inspired me. I dusted off my sewing machine and am working on an outfit for my god daughters (Zoe & Soleil) for Christmas. We'll see how they turn out! Wish me luck! hugs!
I love the fabric, you'll make the best choice, and you can always change it in a couple years...I'd keep bugging them about your homestudy, you pay'd your dues now it's there turn!!!
I am sure you will find the perfect fabric! Hopefully you get your home study this week!
aww Meg - I was looking for the final pictures here - how did the project go? did you start? finish? how about a home study? got one yet?
thinking of you. I can't imagine how frustrating the wait for your HS is. A good cry does feel good sometimes, but hopefully you'll receive that HS and be dancing away with joy :)
