Update on CRAZINESS

I am now in regular communication with my wonderful SW, Jacque (aka: WSW), and am oh-so happy about that. Said WSW has explained that DCFS has changed the rules once again, and now, instead of getting the homestudy when it is completed, and then DCFS waiting for the Foster License in order to "approve" the homestudy -- they make you wait until you have the Foster License, and then they turn around the "approved" homestudy in just a couple weeks.

This is Yippeeee, Woo-Hoo exciting for several reasons:

1. I now understand the process so I'm not stressing out so much. (see above picture of my big fat cheesy grin. Pardon the quality, taken at my desk w/ my phone!)

2. WSW said she will have the draft homestudy avail for us to review (and my AAC, Toni) this week. (see above pictures of my big fat cheesy grin.)

3. WSW said to expect the Foster license very soon, which means the homestudy can go down to Springfield for "approval" very soon. (see above pictures of my big fat cheesy grin.)

4. In the end, we have not lost any time due to the CRAZY WACKY DCFS, because the "approval" will happen faster than previously expected. (see above pictures of my big fat cheesy grin.)

5. WSW said we do not have to move to IN to avoid the CRAZY WACKY DCFS for adoption #2, because our Foster license is good for many years, and if we stick w/ the same agency, we only need a homestudy update, which is typically pain-free. If we move to IN in the interim, we'll have a new homestudy agency, new SW, and basically start everything over again.

So, I figure we'll stay here for adoption No 2, have our house on the market, and vamoose across the boarder once the new babies are home (we are considering a toddler sib group for No. 2 adoption.)

I estimate (with a large grain of salt) that our homestudy should be off to USCIS by the 1st week of November. YEAH!!! Which means, possibly, our dossier will be out, and we'll be on the wait list in January. Wooooo-Hoooooo!

Although the above is all talk, and no "walk" yet, it's the psychological pick-me-up I really needed this week. (which means we will save on our wine bill for the month of October.)

Now, if we can see more referrals, it will be even better!
