Writing my book

So I've started it -- my book about Sam, or rather, how we found Sam. I was going to originally just edit my blog into a book. But I write a lot of crap here, and found the thought of editing everything quite daunting. So I used the Blurb free software (see link in prior post) and started a book from scratch. I keep my blog screen up as well, and can cut and paste the good portions I want. But I can write the back-story too. The how-Gregg-and-Meg-got-together story that wouldn't be all that entertaining to my blog readers. I have a lot of control and have written 6 pages in the past 12 hours. I must admit, this could become addictive. I'm going to have it be on-going, and probably won't finish/print it until we have Sam home next fall. That would equal about 9-10 months of writing, which seems right. I don't know if this book is just for us, or for Sam as the story of his adoption, or is the book I want to have published someday. Maybe. Maybe not. In the meantime I am enjoying this and that's really what it's all about, right?

I am sure it will become a family treasure. Isn't writing so cathartic?
I have a hand-written journal I started for Maya a year and a half ago. It's sometimes hard to remember to write in that, her baby book and her blog, but I like it because it includes only the most private of thoughts for her.
